The Orono Public Library, located at 39 Pine Street, is offering a Points of View Book Group.
This is a series developed on the culture and life of the Islamic world, representing what we don’t see in the news. No library card is needed, and books will be provided. This series is provided by the Maine Humanities Council.
The dates and titles are: February 20 – In the Country of Men: A Novel by Hisham Matar; March 20 – House of Stone: a Memoir of Home, Family, and a Lost Middle East by Anthony Shadid; April 17 – Persepolis by Marjane Satrapi; and May 15 – Broken Verses: a Novel by Kamila Shamsie. All meetings will be from 6-7 p.m.
