LEWISTON — Questions about life’s purpose and divine intervention will be explored at Lifetree Cafe at 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 22.

The program, “Does God Have a Plan for You?, features a filmed interview with Operation Baby Lift volunteer LeAnn Thieman. In the final days of the Vietnam War, Thieman and other volunteers extracted hundreds of at-risk babies from Vietnamese orphanages.

During the interview, Thieman explains she originally traveled to Vietnam to escort six orphans to the United States. Upon arrival, she learned she would have a different mission.

“When I reached Saigon, I was greeted with the words ‘Have you heard the news? President Ford approved Operation Baby Lift. You’re going to help us take home 300 orphans,’” she said.

Admission to the 60-minute event is free. Lifetree Cafe is located at South Lewiston Baptist Church 1919 Lisbon Road
