ANDOVER — Mr. Roland E. Chartier, 90, died Wednesday, Feb. 21, at his residence in Andover.
Born in Fall River, Mass., on July 4, 1927, he was a son of Albert and Lydia (Henri) Chartier. Roland was a self-employed logger in the area for many years. He enjoyed fishing and hunting.
Roland was married in Quebec, Canada, on May 10, 1952, to Pauline Bouchard, who survives, of Andover.
Other survivors include two sons, Jacques and his wife, Brenda, of Mexico and Jean of Roxbury Pond; a daughter, Joann Zitoli, and her companion, Kenneth Morton, of East Andover; three brothers, Rosaire Chartier of Rumford, Marcel Chartier of Florida and Lawrence Chartier and his wife, Lucille, of Massachusetts; sisters, Gilbert Bizer of Thedford Mines, Canada, and Annette Tardif of Wensor Mill, Canada; eight grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a son, Marc Chartier, and numerous siblings.
