MONDAY, March 5

AUBURN — City Council workshop and meeting, 5:30 p.m. in the council chamber at Auburn Hall. Agenda includes a legislative update on recreational marijuana. Regular meeting includes authorizing a grant application process for the removal of the Littlefield Dam, and authorizing the sale of multiple city properties. 

LEWISTON — Lewiston School Committee, 6:45 p.m., Dingley Building, Superintendent Bill Webster will present his proposed school budget in the first of a lengthy budget review process. Due to the amount of time needed for the budget, no public comment on non-agenda items will be heard.

TUESDAY, March 6

LEWISTON — City Council meeting, 7 p.m. in the council chamber at City Hall. 

WEDNESDAY, March 7

LEWISTON — Lewiston School Committee, budget meeting, 6 p.m. Dingley Building, parts of the budget reviewed will be English Language Learner services, special education and student and staff support.

AUBURN — School Department community forum, 5:30 p.m. at the Edward Little High School gym. Public invited to share their ideas for Vision 2020 to Vision 2030, new ways of teaching. Facilitator will be David Stephens of New Vista Designs, part of the Harriman Group overseeing plans for the new high school.

AUBURN — School Committee, 7:15 p.m., Auburn Hall. On agenda: 2018-19 school calendar which will include nine, noon dismissals Wednesdays for Grades 7-12; for elementary grades, weekly, 1 p.m. Wednesday dismissals, changes recommended by Professional Development Committee. Also, Superintendent Katy Grondin will update plans for high school student safety during the March 14 National Walk Out demonstration about school shooting violence.
