LEWISTON — A local man was arrested early Friday morning and charged with trafficking crack cocaine.
Two police officers who investigated a disturbance at 78 Maple St. discovered a “significant amount” of illegal drugs were at the residence and seized them, according to the department’s Facebook page.
Omar Abdullahi Omar, 41, was arrested and charged with unlawful trafficking in scheduled drugs, a Class B felony, punishable by up to 10 years in prison.
Officers seized nearly 4 ounces of cocaine base, or crack and more than $1,400 in cash suspected to come from drug sales. They also seized items as evidence suggesting the sale of illegal drugs.
