I am thrilled to learn that Ned Claxton is running for the Maine state Senate District 20. I have known him for more than 30 years, in Auburn at his family practice office and then at CMMC with the Family Practice Residency Program.
The traits of a good family practice physician are the ability to listen, to care and to identify strategies that will help patients. Claxton is one of the best. He understands the difficulties that affect everyday people in our community and has been on the front line in helping families deal with the trauma of opioid addiction, the stress of illness and financial instability, and the consequences of broken families and mental illness.
Claxton is thoughtful and up-beat. He will promote the best opportunities for this community by listening to his constituents and supporting effective solutions to complex problems.
