A Lewiston firefighter leans into a car involved in a crash at the corner of Westminster and Lexington streets in Lewiston on Thursday afternoon. Mohamed Djama, 28, of Lewiston, the driver of the Toyota Camry on the left, was trapped in the vehicle and had to be extricated by firefighters. The driver of the GMC pickup, Christian Wiken, 39, of Sumner, walked away from the crash without injury. Djama and a passenger were taken to a hospital to be examined for injuries that were not life-threatening. Central Maine Power crews were called to repair the pole, which was snapped in half in the 4:30 p.m. wreck. Lewiston police were investigating. (Russ Dillingham/Sun Journal)
