Pine Grove Cemetery Corp. meeting

POLAND — The annual meeting of the directors and officers of the Pine Grove Cemetery Corporation of Poland will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 21, at 16 Strout Road.

All lot owners and members of the corporation are encouraged to attend.

ASCEA to elect officers at annual meeting

LISBON FALLS — The Androscoggin-Sagadahoc Counties Extension Association (ASCEA) will hold its annual meeting and elect officers at 6 p.m. Monday, May 14, at the University of Maine Cooperative Extension office, 24 Main St.

The UMaine Extension 4-H Teen Leadership Council and Maine AgrAbility Project Coordinator Lani Carlson will make presentations. Coffee and dessert will be served at the public meeting.

The ASCEA is recruiting members, who, in partnership with UMaine Extension staff, oversee county budget appropriations that support Extension educational programs and provide input on educational programming needs.

Scholarship offered to business students

ELLSWORTH — Applications are being accepted for the Maine Community Foundation’s Patriot Education Scholarship Fund. This renewable scholarship supports graduates of a Maine high school who are enrolled part-time (minimum of nine credit hours) or full-time in pursuit of a business degree and who will be entering their freshman, sophomore, junior or senior year of college.

Preference is given to applicants who have a demonstrated interest in personal and commercial insurance professions.

Deadline for applications is Friday, June 1. Applications are available at www.mainecf.org.

Community Clean-Up in Rumford

RUMFORD — Oxford Health Mental Health will host Community Clean-Up on Friday, April 20. Meet at 2 p.m. at the OCMHS parking lot, 150 Congress St.

Groups will be assigned local areas to be cleaned up. Trash bags and gloves will be provided. Participants are welcome to go to the Beacon Club for refreshments after.

Legion Auxiliary adds members

RUMFORD — The Rumford American Legion Auxiliary has had a good year for adding new members. This year, 2018, 23 have joined.

A meet-and-greet has been scheduled at the post on Congress Street from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, April 25. Light refreshments will be served. This is open for all members.

Butterfly release to celebrate loved ones

MEXICO — The Hope Association will host a Butterfly Release Celebration to celebrate loved ones at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 9, at the Briar Patch Greenhouse, 91 Highland Terrace. Rain date is Sunday, June 10.

Butterflies are available for purchase for $20 at the Hope Association, on Facebook and at area businesses. There will be refreshments, 50/50 and crafts for sale. The deadline to order butterflies and be recognized in the printed programs is Saturday, May 19.

Clean donations needed for sale

FARMINGTON — The Farmington Falls Fire Co. members are planning the annual benefit yard sale and chicken barbecue in July that will benefit the Farmington Falls youth baseball programs.
