AUGUSTA — Rene Lecompte Jr., 89, of West Gardiner, died April 13, 2018.
He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., on Sept. 11, 1928, the son of Rene Lecompte Sr. and Elizabeth (Gagne) Lecompte.
He was a member of the Elks Club and worked as an electrician and auto mechanic.
He was predeceased by daughter Carol Francis Taylor, 1953-2017.
He is survived by two sons, Gary R. Lecompte and his wife, Nancy, of Belgrade and David R. Lecompte and his partner, Sherry A. Hein, of West Gardiner; granddaughter, Faye Thibault, of Auburn; and three great-grandchildren, Chase, Alex and Kaira Thibault of Poland; brother, Roland Lecompte and his wife, Connie; and nieces and nephews.
