DAPHNE, Ala. — Jeanette Gallant of Daphne, Ala., passed away Sunday, April 29.

She was born to Alfred and Rose St. Cyr, in Newry on Sept. 23, 1929. Jeannette had been a longtime resident of Rumford, where she raised her children and created loving memories with family and friends.

Among her many activities she loved were the annual family reunions at Worthley Pond, apple picking and vacations to Prince Edward Island.

She was an accomplished knitter, keeping her family and friends warmly clothed with sweaters. They are a lasting hug from Jeanette. Favorite pastimes included bingo, cribbage, poker and having good times with family and friends.

Jeanette graduated from Stephens High School in Rumford. In addition to being mother and homemaker, she worked for many years as a nurse’s aide at Rumford Community Hospital.

She is survived by three children: Dennis (and Nancy) Gallant of Maine, James (and Donna) Gallant of Maine and Deborah Ervin of Alabama; five grandchildren: William Ervin, Sean Gallant, Heather Gallant, Amie Loya and Jason Phelps; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband of 46 years, Adelard; and brothers Alfred St. Cyr and Lawrence St. Cyr.
