I am writing in support of Ned Claxton for state senator for District 20, which includes Auburn, New Gloucester, Poland, Minot and Mechanic Falls.
I have met Claxton at a number of community events, including making food deliveries at the Trinity Jubilee Center in Lewiston. He is a warm, service-minded person who comes across as genuinely interested in the people he meets. I later learned that he is a retired physician, one of the first board-certified family physicians in Lewiston-Auburn. He has an extensive background in health care that will make him an effective legislator on the many issues that arise in this area.
He has a gift for collaboration and a knowledge of the issues people face in this Senate district. Ned Claxton will continue his long-time public service in Augusta in a time when there needs to be an end to partisan divide.
