LEWISTON — Healthy Androscoggin announces it has received a $12,000 CVS Health Community Grant.
The Community Grant Program was created by CVS Health as part of its commitment to help people achieve their best health through financial assistance to programs that are focused on smoking cessation and prevention. The support from CVS Health will help Healthy Androscoggin expand and sustain its Tar Wars program.
The Tar Wars program is designed to teach students about the short-term, image-based consequences of tobacco use, the cost associated with using tobacco products, and the advertising techniques used by the tobacco industry to market their products to youth. The program will be offered to all fourth and fifth grade classrooms in Androscoggin County.
