FARMINGTON — Regional School Unit 9 voters passed a $35.5 million budget Tuesday by a vote of 1,552 to 1,174.
The budget for 2018-19 is $1.91 million, or 5.68 percent more than this fiscal year. The spending plan covers education for pre-kindergarten through grade 12 and adult education.
The spending plan includes $461,403 for a kindergarten through fifth-grade alternative education program, to be known as Pathway for All Learners.
The program’s goal is to allow behaviorally challenged students to develop the skills to participate fully in general education classrooms.
The budget requires district taxpayers to raise $13.48 million, a $792,890 increase.
