MONMOUTH — The Henry L. Cottrell School will hold a Spring Fling from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, May 24.

There will be flowers and vegetables for purchase and artwork on display.

Community sign-up for local summer activities will be available as well.

GRAY — Friends of the Maine Wildlife Park will hold the annual plant sale on Memorial weekend at the Maine Wildlife Park, off Route 26. There will be annual flowers, vegetables, hanging and potted plants.

The plants will be available for purchase in the wildlife park parking lot from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, May 26 and 27, so no admission fee is required. Starting Monday, Memorial Day, plant sales will continue inside the park until they are all gone.

MECHANIC FALLS — The Anglican Church of the Transfiguration (formerly the Congregational Church) will hold a yard and plant sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 26, on church grounds, 64 Elm St., rain or shine.

Proceeds will benefit the church building maintenance. The Bog Hoot Quilt Society will sell raffle tickets for a quilt during the sale to assist Marian Anpur in funding her daughter’s journey to the United States from Ghana.

OTISFIELD — The Otisfield Volunteer Firefighters’ Association is having a perennial plant sale from 9 a.m. to 2 pp.m. Saturday, May 26, to raise money for the Otisfield Winter Carnival. It will take place at the Spurr’s Corner Fire Station, 994 State Route 121.

There will be hundreds of perennials for sale in one- to three-gallon containers.

RUMFORD — The Rumford Historical Society will hold its annual yard sale from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, June 2, at the Rumford Center Town Hall, Route 2. A bake sale table will be available to purchase snacks or take-home goodies.

Items accepted for sale will include household cooking ware and utensils, glass ware, electronic items (working ones only), puzzles, books, paintings and prints and furniture. No clothing or bedding items will be accepted.

Large furniture items will be picked up by calling either David Kimball at 207-364-7097 or Herb Peterson at 207-369-9288. All other items should be delivered to the town hall by Monday, May 28. Call either number to assure that the building will be unlocked. Do not leave any items outside.
