An old voting list of the town of Lewiston, wrinkled and yellow, but neatly framed for its preservation is before us, a loan from City Treasurer Keegan of Lewiston, to whom it was given by Abram W. Garcelon. It is the list of voters of the date of August 18, 1856 — sixty-two years ago. Two persons whose names appear thereon, are now alive —Almond Gardner and Horace Hadley. A person must now be at least 83 years of age to have been a voter in 1856.
