NORWAY — Police blocked off a section of Route 118 after a dump truck tipped over at about 4 p.m. Thursday.
No injuries were reported in the wreck, but traffic was snarled because two wreckers were needed to pull the overturned dump truck out of a ditch.
Police were not releasing the drivers’ names Thursday night.
Norway police said a wide load was being hauled down Route 118 around the time of the crash. The driver of a car had stopped to let the load pass, according to Norway police Officer John Lewis.
The driver of the dump truck came up behind the stopped car after rounding a curve, Lewis said. Unable to stop in time to avoid a collision, the truck driver swerved to the side of the road, clipping the car and flipping the truck onto its side.
Lewis said the dump truck was fully loaded at the time.
Police were continuing their investigate Thursday night.
