AUBURN — The GreenWood Gallery, 998 Old Danville Road, one of the newest fine art galleries in Lewiston/Auburn, will hold its 5th annual open house on Saturday, June 23, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

This year’s exhibit will highlight the works of five unique, talented and well-known Maine artists: Tony Brown, Susan Fitz-Patrick, Jenna Hackett, Martha Levesque and Anita F. Poulin. The gallery is owned by Poulin who is an affiliate of AP Graphics & Fine Arts of Auburn.

Tony Brown of Lewiston paints colorful “Idyllic Fantasies” in acrylics on medium and large canvasses. He loves bright colors, detailed work, organic lines and shapes and beautifully developed images.

Susan Fitz-Patrick has a life-long passion for expressing herself in drawing, painting and quilting. She has studied at the University of Maine and Benton Center in Oregon plus under several artists in oil, pastel, watercolor and acrylic painting. She now devotes her talent to expressing her love of the ocean in acrylic paintings of lighthouses and seascapes.

Jenna Hackett began art as a hobby which soon developed into a blossoming career. She spends a lot of time painting, photographing, traveling and diving or surfing the ocean. A perspective within nature and city gives her inspiration to experiment with colors and brush strokes. Her focus is a hyper realistic approach to color and detail.

Martha Levesque, born in Canada, is a skilled master of Pergamano, an art with origins in the 18th century. It is embellishing and decorating parchment paper with techniques such as embossing, perforating, stippling, outlining and color- enhancing. She is a certified instructor.

Anita F. Poulin, owner of the GreenWood Gallery, comes from four generations of self-taught artists. She has been painting for 45 years and teaching art locally for the past 35 years. The artist beautifully captures Maine’s four-season landscapes and seascapes in acrylic and pastel medium. Her wildflower paintings are delightful in simplicity yet intricate in detail. Her adult, children and pet portraits are life-like capturing each individual personality.

This year’s open house will feature Victor Montez Jr., guitarist from San Antonio, Texas, who comes from a family of musicians, where he learned his musical skills throughout childhood by watching and learning from them. Ultimately, he decided guitar was his voice. He has been living in Maine the past 11 years and has played at the blues festivals in Maine and hosted blues jams in local venues.
