Cub Scout Eben Thomlinson plays the part of an injured victim as Lewiston Cub Scout Pack 116 Cubmaster Christian Arsenault demonstrates basic first aid skills during a recent Cub Scout Emergency Preparedness class. Members of several local Cub Scout Packs are meeting throughout the summer to learn special skills and work towards their Emergency Preparedness Award. Skills include fire prevention, basic first aid, disaster preparedness, emergency planning and personal safety. The program is hosted by Pack 116 in Lewiston, and includes support by the Lewiston Police Department, Lewiston Fire Department, American Red Cross, and CMMC. The program runs through August and will conclude with an official pinning ceremony and a visit to the LifeFlight helicopter for an up-close look and demonstration.
