WILTON — Several bids were considered at the Wilton Board of Selectpersons meeting Tuesday night.

Public Works foreman Dale Roberts recommended work to the highway department garage doors be awarded Lennie Bolduc Carpentry of Peru. Roberts said Bolduc’s low bid of $11,534 fell close to his estimate of $15,000.

Roberts also recommended awarding work on the high-fuel management system to low bidder Adams & Fogg of Falmouth. Roberts stated he wanted to go with Precision Tank of Jay because of an established relationship, however such a recommendation would go against town policy.

“According to the purchase policy, he’s not within 2 percent of the low bid, so my recommendation would be Adams & Fogg for $13,178,” Roberts stated.

Other recommendations included purchasing a new salt and sand hopper from Viking-Civies of Lewiston for $7,779 and allowing $6,150 to be spent for repair work to the department loader. Low-bidder for sandblasting and priming the loader was Mainely Sandblasting of Jay.

The selectboard accepted all Roberts’ proposals, which he said fell within the Public Works budget.

The board also reviewed bid proposals for a Kineowatha Park building project. The building will house the recreation department office and ice skating warming building.

Leclerc’s Carpentry of Jay was awarded the project for $115,248, which includes underground electrical service. Construction is expected to begin mid-September and should take about a month to complete, said Recreation Department Director Frank Donald.
