More than 200 neighbors attended the grand opening of the Pop Up Garden at 115 Bartlett St. The new public green space is designed to make neighborhood events easy and affordable. The 50-by-100-foot lot with a snack shack is sized for events for up to 50 people. Residents can use it any time, reserve it for free, and rent all the equipment in the Dog House snack shack, including tents, tables, chairs, a grill and utensils, a large cooler and trash cans, for $25 per day. The event was designed to get input from neighbors on what more the Dog House needs and to vote to select the variety of apple trees they’ll plant later this fall. Its other purpose was to show one way to use all the equipment to hold an event. (Submitted photo)
