New business to hold ribbon cutting

FARMINGTON — The Franklin County Chamber of Commerce and the Farmington Underground will celebrate the completion of its new escape room at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, at 109 Church St.

There will be local cider and doughnuts for those attending the ribbon cutting.

Music series to begin at Hebron Academy

HEBRON — The Cohen Chamber Music Series will begin at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 12, at Hebron Academy. Admission is free and open to the public. FMI: call 207-966-2100.

Snowshoe club to meet, elect officers

RUMFORD — Le Paresseux Snowshoe Club will host a meatloaf supper, installation of officers and dance on Saturday, Oct. 13, at the club house, 227 Waldo St.

The Fraternal Union of Maine and New Hampshire meeting and election of officers will be held at 2 p.m. A meatloaf supper will be served from 5 to 6 p.m. for $8 per person, $4 for children 12 and under. Installation of officers will be at 8 p.m., with a charge of $2 at the door. Those attending the supper will not be charged again at the door.

Dancing and music by Noel and Don will be from 7 to 11 p.m.

Bethel to hold special town meeting

BETHEL — There will be a special town meeting at 6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 15, at the Bethel Town Office. The meeting is being held to decide on funding a waste water treatment plant upgrade project.

PERU — A public hearing will be held at 6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 15, at the Town Office, followed immediately by a regular town meeting.
