The L/A Nordiques exploded for a season-high in goals to run their season-starting winning streak to 12 with a 17-1 win over the Cape Cod Islanders on Sunday at Androscoggin Bank Colisee.
Joshua Malone notched a hat trick to lead nine different Nordiques scorers. Colby Audette, Kyle Secor, Nicolas Lusignan, Crewz Berry, Joe Bisson and Mike Keller scored twice apiece for the Noridques (12-0-0). Sergei Anisimov and J.P. Chauvin, who also had three assists, also got involved with a goal apiece.
Keller, Bisson and Lusignan, who also tallied three assists, each scored once on the power play as L/A went three-for-three with the man advantage, all in the third period.
Hunter Raye stopped 18 shots in net for the Nordiques, who outshot the Islanders, 51-18. Cole Therrien scored the lone goal for Cape Cod (3-11-1) in the second period.
