I support Kristen Cloutier, Lewiston Ward 5 Councilor and Council president, who is running for Maine House District 60.
Cloutier served four years on the Lewiston School Committee and supports resources for students, teachers and state funding of schools at the 55-percent level.
She worked for more than six years on child lead poisoning prevention and lead abatement. She is a past member of the Green and Healthy Homes Initiative and the Lewiston Area Public Health Committee.
Property taxes are a major concern. Cloutier supports smart investments, strong economic development expansion of the homestead exemption and increased revenue sharing from the state to local communities.
She has worked with legislators on pedestrian safety and with the Lewiston School Committee to organize forums. She supports redevelopment projects and creation of more co-operative housing developments.
Cloutier received the Emerge Maine 2017 Rising Star Award and Healthy Androscoggin’s 2014 Community Leadership Award, among others.
