AUBURN — An Auburn police officer was injured after he was rear-ended Tuesday morning on Court Street.

Officer John Chamberlain, 36, was stopped in traffic on Goff Hill when a green 2005 Toyota Camry driven by Izaac White, 22, of Auburn hit the back of Chamberlain’s 2014 Ford Police Interceptor.

Chamberlain complained of injuries to his neck and back after the accident, and was taken to the hospital.

A spokesperson for the Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Office said Chamberlain’s injuries were not life-threatening, and Auburn police said he was at his home Tuesday afternoon.

White was not injured.

No charges were filed in the accident.
