Louis R. Fortin
1956 – 2018

Louis R. Fortin, 62 of Greene passed away on Sunday, October 21, surrounded by his family. He was born in Lewiston on August 1, 1956 to Dorilas F. and Jacqueline (Veilleux) Fortin. Louis was married on May 9, 1981 to Mary “BeBe” Myrand and together they devoted their lives to raising their family. He was a member of Leavitt Area High School class of 1974.

In his early years, Louis worked on the family farm, Maple Lawn Inn, and enjoyed working in the woods driving his skidder. In later years, he was a millwright/welder by trade and worked various construction jobs throughout the United States. He loved family time cruising on the barge at Allen Pond, working with his sons in his garage, motorcycles and snowmobiling.

Louis is survived by his wife, sons George and his wife Sara and John and companion, Becka of Greene, and his grandchildren Logan, Phoebe and Madilyn, who were his pride and joy. He also leaves behind his sisters, Lucie Dumond Lagasse and husband Will of Greene, Ellen Mato of Tallahasee, Florida, brother-in-law Richard Cloutier of East Waterboro, Aunt Charlotte L’Heureux and many close relatives and friends. He is predeceased by his parents and a sister, Doris Cloutier.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, November 3, at 11:00am at Greene Valley Cemetery, Route 202, Greene, Maine.
