Marilyn B. Smith

1939 – 2018

LEWISTON – Marilyn B. Smith, 79, of Lisbon Falls, peacefully passed away on Oct. 28, 2018, at d’Youville Pavilion in Lewiston. Marilyn was born to Thelma and Clifton Fogg on Oct. 22, 1939.

After graduating from Lisbon High School, she went to work at the Hillcrest Poultry Co., where she met her future husband, Adrian. They were married on Jan. 23, 1960 and settled in Lisbon. They had two sons, Timothy and Jeffery, and were married 49 years.

Marilyn and Adrian were active members of the Lisbon Falls Baptist Church. Marilyn enjoyed singing in the choir, attending the Widow’s Group, and going to the annual Women’s Retreat.

Marilyn loved being “Mimi” to her five grandchildren and great-grandson. She proudly wore a variety of sweatshirts announcing her status as grandmother. She loved babies and could sit quietly, for hours, rocking them.

She is survived by her son, Jeff, and his wife, Sandy, of Lisbon, daughter-in-law, Linda Smit,h of Freeport; grandchildren, Nate Smith, Leanna Smith, Miranda Smith, Austin Smith, Chelsie Griffin and her husband, Devin,  great-grandson, Welsey Giffin; and good friend, Don Caouette.

She was predeceased by her husband, Adrian; and her son, Timothy.

The family would like to especially thank the staff at the Lisbon Falls Baptist Church, CMMC, d’Youville Pavilion, and Androscoggin Home Health/Hospice, for the love and care they provided in Marilyn’s final weeks.

A celebration of Marilyn’s life will take place at the Lisbon Falls Baptist Church on Saturday, Nov. 3, at 1 p.m., followed by light refreshments, and a brief committal service.
