Christina Carter, left, and Matthew Shaw, right, of Community Credit Union present a check for $250 to Thomas Poulin and Rita Beaudry of Auburn Police Activities League. The PAL Center is a self-sustaining program supported by donations, fundraisers and through chef Tom Poulin’s Science thru Cooking Program, where students cater events. Many students’ only meals for the day are those received at school and from the PAL Center. Each day the Auburn PAL Center hosts between 50 and 90 children. Community Credit Union participates in the Maine Credit Union League’s initiative known as the Maine Credit Unions’ Campaign for Ending Hunger.
