Golden Age Club to hold meeting, lunch

AUBURN — The next meeting and lunch of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Golden Age Club is Tuesday, Nov. 13, at CMCC.

Social Hour will be from 11 to 11:45 a.m, lunch is served at 11:45 a.m., and a short business meeting will follow. Lunch is butternut squash soup, roast turkey, stuffing, veggies and pie for dessert. Cost is $12.50.

Also, the Memorial Service for deceased members will be at the 11 a.m. Mass on Sunday, Nov. 11.

Beekeepers Association to hold meeting

TOPSHAM — The Sagadahoc County Beekeepers Association will hold a regular monthly meeting on Wednesday, Nov. 14, at the Grange Hall, 47 Pleasant St.

Doors open at 6 p.m. for socializing and refreshments, and the business meeting starts at 6:30, followed at 7 p.m. by a guest speaker, Maine State Apiarist Jennifer Lund. Lund will be giving a presentation on how to autopsy a hive. Ne board members will also be elected.

Anyone interested in beekeeping is invited.

Legion to hold annual turkey raffle

SABATTUS — The Sabattus American Legion will hold its annual Turkey Raffle at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 16, 40 Island Road. The public is invited to attend.

Second age-friendly community meeting to be held

AUBURN — The second age-friendly community meeting will be held at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20, at the Senior Community Center in Pettengill Park. Refreshments will be served.

Food pantry seeks donations

AUBURN — The High Street Congregational Church Food Pantry has ongoing needs for the following items: peanut butter, canned vegetables, soup, canned pasta, canned meats, canned fruit, dry cereal, baking items, soup, crackers and toilet paper.

Auburn United Methodist Church collects items for the pantry. Donations may be brought to 439 Park Ave.

Bog Hoot Quilt Society meeting 

MECHANIC FALLS — Area residents who enjoy crafts and companionship are invited to join community and church members at the Anglican Church of the Transfiguration (formerly the Mechanic Falls Congregational Church) on Elm Street for the Bog Hoot Quilt Society meeting.

The group meetis at 10 a.m. Tuesdays. The entrance to the downstairs is from the driveway to the church.

There are plenty of tables for quilting projects, an ironing board and a cutting board, and the coffee pot is on. Participants are invited to bring any project they are working on, including knitting, crocheting and needle crafts, or they may join in on church projects.
