AUBURN – Phyllis Doiron, 89, a resident of Auburn and formerly of Jay, passed away Wednesday evening, Nov. 14, at Schooner Estates, with her loving family by her side. She was born Feb. 8, 1929, in Livermore, the daughter of Charles and Louise (Hegenauer) Cressey.

She was a 1947 graduate of Livermore Falls High School. On August 16, 1949, she married Richard Doiron at St. Rose of Lima Church in Jay. Phyllis worked for the Post Office in Chisholm and North Jay. She was also a bookkeeper for Bailey Ford for many years. She was creative and very much enjoyed knitting various items for family and friends.

She and her husband Richard spent every fall and winter at their condo in Cocoa Beach, Fla., where she played shuffle board, card games, enjoyed the beautiful weather and the company of many good friends.

She is survived by her husband Richard of 69 years; her sons Michael Doiron and his wife Bryn of Wilton, Robert Doiron and his wife Debbie of Wayne, Ken Doiron and his wife Pam of Bangor, her daughter Ritchie Rawls and her husband Rich of Virginia Beach, Va. and Rachel Cooney and her husband Michael of Falmouth; 12 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her brothers William, Charles and Otho Cressey, and her sister Marguerite Farrington.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, 2018, at St. Rose of Lima Church, 1 Church St., Jay, Maine. Visitation 10-11 a.m. at FINLEY FUNERAL HOME, 15 Church St., Livermore Falls, Maine. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery, 445 Park St., Livermore Falls, Maine, will be announced in the spring.
