PARIS — Oxford County commissioners have voted unanimously to ratify an agreement between the county and sheriff’s Lt. Brian Landis, who has been on unpaid leave for 17 months while charged with domestic violence terrorizing, an official said Wednesday.

According to clerks at 11th District Court in Paris, Landis, 44, is scheduled to enter a plea to the charge in January.
He was arrested by state police the afternoon of June 27, 2017, on the Class D offense, state police Lt. Walter Grzyb said previously. The crime is punishable by less than a year in jail and a fine of up to $2,000.
Interim County Administrator Tom Winsor said the agreement was ratified Nov. 13, and while certain details are confidential, commissioners expect “certain actions to be taken by Landis. If he doesn’t take them, the deal is off.”
Landis, “as of right now,” is still an employee of the Sheriff’s Office, Winsor said.
Commission Chairman Steve Merrill of Norway and Commissioners David Duguay of Byron and Tim Turner signed off on the agreement. Winsor said.
