LISBON – Donald E. “Whitie” White, 88, of Lisbon, passed away on Monday evening, Dec. 3, 2018, at the Androscoggin Hospice House after a short stay surrounded by his loved ones.

Donald was born in Visalia, Calif., on April 7, 1930, the son of Harold and Addie White. He married Alfreda Carroll on June 25, 1971. They had a long and happy life together.

In his early years he worked in the manufacturing mills of the community, and later in life enjoyed working for Crooker and Sons of Topsham. He also loved the labor of logging, and at Christmastime enjoyed selling wreaths and trees to the local folk of the community.

Donald’s passions included gardening, caring for his animals, camping with his wife, and especially family events which included hauling the children around behind his tractor.

He was predeceased by his wife, Alfreda White; one brother, nine sisters; and one stepson.

Donald is survived by four daughters, Darlene Lavoie and her husband, Danny of Lisbon, Diane Arsenault and her husband, Gary of White Oak, N.C., Debra Collins of Newport, and Jenny Giguere of Newport; three stepdaughters, Samantha Colson and her husband, Charles of Bowdoin, Barbara Dufresne and her husband, Charlie of Oxford, and Donna Snay of South Paris; 16 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Harry White of New Gloucester, and one sister, Harriet Stilkey of Lewiston.
