CANTON — The Oxford County Sheriff’s Office on Friday released the name of a third person involved in a single-vehicle crash that killed two people Tuesday.
Corey Edingbourgh, 36, of Mexico, was seriously injured in the Canton Point Road accident that took the lives of Shawn Hodge, 38, of Rumford, and Sarah Bosworth, 26, of Mexico, Lt. Justin Brown said.
No details on Edingbourgh’s condition were available, the lieutenant said.
The investigation into who was driving is ongoing, Brown said Friday evening.
He said the Lexus the three were riding in was headed toward Canton from Dixfield at about 9:30 p.m. Christmas night when it went off the road, down an embankment and into a tree. Hodge and Bosworth were thrown out of the vehicle and were pronounced dead at the scene, the officer said.
The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Maine State Police, Med-Care ambulance service, Canton Rescue and Canton Fire Department, Brown said.
The Lexus was demolished, he said.
