FARMINGTON — Franklin County Animal Shelter has announced the Pets of the Week.
Dog of the week Smudge is a 2-year-old male Collie/Lab mix. He’s very energetic and playful and needs a structured home that can provide him with the training he needs to improve his manners. Smudge is looking for a home with kids over 15 because of his bouncy ways, and no dogs or cats, please.
Cat of the week Heather is 1 to 3 years old. Don’t let her cranky appearance put you off — she is still adjusting to life with the other cats at the shelter and is really very sweet.
Smudge, Heather and other pets are available for visits from noon to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays at 550 Industry Road. Cats and dogs are spayed or neutered before adoption and have been vaccinated for rabies, treated for fleas, microchipped and have had nail trims.
The shelter also finds homes for barn cats, livestock and other pets.
