NEWCASTLE — Joziah Learned bucketed a game-high 29 points to power Leavitt to an 81-44 triumph over Lincoln Academy in boys’ basketball action Friday evening.

The Hornets (7-0) came out strong, scoring more than 20 points in each of the first three quarters. Josh Banks had 11 of his 15 points in the first half.

Sullivan Fink, Bryce York and Joel Hatch each posted eight points for Lincoln (1-7) in the losing effort.

Deering 41, Oxford Hills 36

PORTLAND — Max Morrione hit two key free throws with less than a minute left for the Rams (5-2), who used a spread offense to overcome the 2-3 zone of the Vikings (4-4) on Friday.

Ben Onek had 15 points and 10 rebounds for Deering. Morrione finished with 13 points, and Darryl Germain added seven assists and three steals.

Spencer Strong and Garret Record led Oxford Hills with 10 points apiece.

Mt. Abram 85, Telstar 21

SALEM — Hunter Warren and Kenyon Pillsbury were prolific with 15 points each as Mt. Abram steamed to an 85-21 victory over Mt. Abram in boy’s basketball action Friday evening.

The Roadrunners (2-6) put 30 points on the board in the second quarter for 49-5 halftime lead. Jackson Masterson pitched in with 11 points for Mt. Abram.

Davin Mason paced the Rebels (0-9) with eight points.

Noble 62, Lewiston 56, OT

LEWISTON — Tyler Oliver had 26 points to lead Noble to a 62-56 overtime victory over Lewiston in a boys’ basketball contest Friday.

Garrett Brown had 15 points, including a game-tying 3-pointer with three seconds remaining in the fourth quarter. The Knights (1-6) made a couple baskets in overtime and hit their free throws to pull away from the Blue Devils.

Evan Williams led Lewiston (2-5) with 18 points, while Hassan Hussein had 16.

Girls’ basketball

Buckfield 35, Forest Hills 32

BUCKFIELD — A balanced scoring attack lifted the Bucks over Forest Hills on Friday.

Kathryn Henderson led the way with eight points, including seven in the fourth quarter. Deja Bennett and Hannah Shields each had seven points.

The Bucks ( 2-3) hit six free throws in a decisive fourth quarter. They outscored the Tigers 13-5 in the frame.

Alexandra Lessard had 13 points for the Tigers (4-3).

St. Dominic 69, Kents Hill 24

AUBURN — Becca Zimmerman tickled the twines for a game-high 17 points as St. Dom’s downed Kents Hill 69-24 in girls’ basketball action Firday evening.

The Saints (6-1) zipped out to a 28-2 start in the first quarter. Leslie Mia-Angela contributed 13 points for St. Dom’s.

Jarni Hewins recorded 15 points on six field goals and three free throws for Kents Hill (0-2) in the losing effort.

Lincoln Academy 48, Leavitt 33

TURNER — Eleanor Matthews poured in a team-leading nine points as Lincoln Academy rolled to a 48-33 victory over Leavitt in girls’ basketball action Friday evening.

Lincoln (4-4) sped to a 31-9 halftime lead. Madeline York contributed eight points for the Eagles.

Taylor White led the Hornets (2-5) with eight points in the losing effort.

Monmouth Academy 38, Richmond 27

MONMOUTH — Kaeti Butterfield scored 15 points to lead the Mustangs to a 38-27 girls’ basketball victory over the Bobcats on Friday.

Libby Clement added eight points for Monmouth (5-3).

Bryanne Lancaster led Richmond (2-7) with 10 points.

Mt. Abram 54, Telstar 48

SALEM — Senior guard Summer Ross scored a game-high 28 points to carry Mt. Abram to a 54-48 overtime win over Telstar in girls’ basketball action Friday evening.

The Rebels (1-8) mounted a 21-5 rally in the forth quarter to tie the contest at 46-46 and force overtime. Center Luci Rothwell tossed a team-leading 19 points for Telstar.

Madison Phelps recorded a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds for the Roadrunners (2-6) in the winning effort.

Noble 55, Lewiston 41

LEWISTON — Lexi Morrill scored 15 points and Raegan Kelly added 13 as the Knights (4-4) downed the Blue Devils (3-5) on Friday.

Noble led 32-10 at halftime.

Maddy Foster scored 11 points to lead Lewiston, and Myah Nicolas chipped in 10.

Oxford Hills 53, Deering 19

PARIS — Julia Colby sank a game-leading 15 points in a balanced attack as Oxford Hills dispatched Deering 53-19 in girls’ basketball action Friday evening.

Cecelia Dieterich and Cassidy Dumont pitched in eight points each for the Vikings (7-1)

Taja Wilkins was the leading scorer for the Rams (1-5) with six points on two 3-pointers in the losing effort.

Boothbay 62, Carrabec 21

BOOTHBAY HARBOR — Glory Blethen paced a balanced offense with 16 points as the Seahawks (8-0) rolled pass the Cobras (2-6) on Friday.

Boothbay also got 15 points from Faith Blethen, 14 from Ashley Abbott and eight from Chloe Arsenault.

Julia Baker led Carrabec with five points.
