LEWISTON — “Super Lola,” a made-for-TV comedy from France, is the first movie in this year’s French Film TV5MONDE series by The Dolard & Priscilla Gendron Franco Center.
It will be shown at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 28, at the center at 46 Cedar St.
The 2013 French comedy tells the story of Lola, a visiting nurse whose chronic shyness and fear of heights make daily life difficult. Circumstances transform her into a masked heroine. She intrigues her husband, Laurent, a modest freelancer who dreams of being an investigative journalist who is blissfully unaware that behind the mask is his wife.
All films in the yearlong series are provided by TV5MONDE USA, and are shown with permission from the Franco Center season underwriter. TV5MONDE can be found locally on Spectrum Cable at Channel 71.
The films are free, open to the public and are in French with English subtitles. Donations are accepted to benefit the center.
