LEWISTON – Arthur J. Caron Sr., 79, of Lewiston, passed away suddenly on Jan. 5, 2019, due to various health issues. He was born in Lewiston on Dec. 31, 1939, the son of Louis and Wilhelmine Caron.

Arthur enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, music, dancing and being with family and friends. He also enjoyed digging clams and bartering with other local fisherman often times trading clams he dug for other fresh seafood. He would often provide fresh seafood for many family gatherings for everyone to enjoy. Arthur enjoyed working on projects in the garage and being outdoors all of his life, He would go outside at dawn and would not come in until dark. After he retired, he and his wife Marion enjoyed venturing out on Fridays and Saturdays going to garage sales.

Arthur worked very hard all of his life, he worked for several local businesses and in his early years shared a successful business of his own with his brother Louis. Arthur retired 17 years ago from a sub division of International Paper formerly know as US Gypsum in Lisbon Falls.

Survivor’s included his wife Marion E, A Caron of Lewiston; three sons Arthur J Caron Jr. of Sabattus, Geoff S Caron and wife Tina of Sabattus, Brian S Caron of Auburn, two stepsons Roger Dyer of Virginia and Robert Dyer of Belfast; two brothers Alphonse Caron of Lewiston and Alphe Caron of Lewiston, two sisters Jeannette Benson of Auburn and Rita Mathieu and husband Andy of Lewiston; three grandchildren, Craig J Rousseau, Kendra and Brianna Caron. Arthur also had several nieces and nephews.
