LISBON – Douglas M. Clark of Lisbon died on Jan. 9, 2019, after a short illness. Douglas was born on July 2, 1921.

He married the love of his life, Marjorie L. Irvin of South Portland. After serving in WWII and Korea for 22 plus years in the Army, Douglas went to work for Hannaford Bros. as a driver for a short time. He then worked at Congdon Transportation, retiring at the age of 55.

Douglas was a life member of the Masonic Lodge, Shriners International Kora Temple Legion of Honor. He was also a member of the VFW, Past Commander of Westbrook Amercain Legion Post 197, Lisbon American Legion Post 158, Eagles and Slovak Club in Lisbon.

Douglas was predeceased by his parents, Ernest T. Clark and Beatrice E. Waterman; wife Marjorie L. Irvin; and daughter Betty Ann Clark. He is survived by his son Wayne D. Clark of Florida, daughters Lyn J. Salisbury and husband Ronald of Gorham, and Sandra L. Bishop of Lewiston; grandchildren Christopher R. Charest and wife Jennifer of Gorham, Alexceus Verrill of Sabattus, and Jaspen D. Bishop and wife Kat of Florida; two great-grandchildren Alana and Elliott; and his longtime companion Marie Russell of Lisbon.

A celebration of life will be held at the Lisbon American Legion Post 158 on Feb. 16, 2019, at 1 p.m.
