FCAS clinic at Tractor Supply Co. 

WILTON — Franklin County Animal Shelter will hold a Nail Trim Clinic from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Feb. 9, at Tractor Supply Co., 979 U.S. Route 2 East.

The services offered at the clinic will be nail trims, cost: $5; microchipping, cost: $20/pet; Frontline, under 70 pounds, cost: $10; and Frontline, over 70 pounds, cost: $15​.

FCAS holds the clinic at Tractor Supply Co. the second Saturday of every month.

Dash for Dogs 5K and Walk 

LEWISTON — Join the Greater Androscoggin Humane Society from 9 a.m. to noon Sunday, April 28, for the sixth annual Dash for Dogs 5K & Strut your Mutt Dog Walk., one of the very few road races that allows folks to run with their canine companions.

The 5K course (timed for runners, not timed for walkers) will start at GAHS, 55 Strawberry Ave., and follow the scenic paved Greenway Trail along the river. Dogs must be on standard leashes (no flexi-leads) and current on all vaccinations. The race starts promptly at 9 a.m. Arrive one hour in advance to pick up your race number or to register.

Awards for the top finishers in each male/female age category will follow completion of the run (separate categories/prizes for participants running with a dog). All walkers and runners will be entered to win prizes, which will be drawn after the awards are given. There is also a special prize for the top fundraiser.

Registration before March 1 costs $20; from March 2-April 24, cost is $25; same-day registration costs $30. To register online, visit https://tinyurl.com/y779r5wa. The registration fee will go directly toward the care of the over 4,000 dogs, cats and other companion animals that the society takes in annually.
