Spaghetti dinner fundraiser

RANGELEY — During Winterpalooza weekend, there will be an all-you-can-eat homemade Italian spaghetti dinner from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, at the Undercroft of the Church of the Good Shepherd on Main Street.

Dinner will be prepared by the Cerminara family, and will include meatballs, salad, garlic bread and dessert. Cost for dinner is $12 for adults and $5 for children under 12.

Raffle tickets will also be sold for two items: a choice of an Italian-themed basket or a gift certificate to an Italian restaurant. The tickets can be purchased ahead of time at the library and will also be sold at the dinner. Tickets will be $5 each or 5 for $20. Winners need not be present.

The dinner is a fundraising event for the public library.

Valentine’s dinner and dance benefit

FARMINGTON — Summit Faith Community Church has organized a public Valentine’s dinner and dance on Saturday, Feb. 16, at the West Farmington Grange to benefit the Western Maine Homeless Outreach.

The catered lasagna dinner starts at 5:30 p.m. downstairs with a cash bar. The dance will be from 7 to 10 p.m. Tickets are $20 each; children under 1 are free.

Tickets can be purchased with cash only at Azulene Day Spa, Devaney Doak & Garrett Booksellers or Life’s Perks Coffee Co. Tickets can also be purchased through the link on the Facebook event page.

Free veterans’ lunch at Legion

RUMFORD — There will be a Welcome Home Luncheon for Vietnam era veterans Saturday, Feb. 16, at the American Legion Post 24, 184 Congress St.

The day will begin with free haircuts from 10 a.m. to noon; local professionals have donated their time. Resource tables will be available, as will morning coffee and snacks.

Lunch will be served at 12:30 p.m. and there will also be free giveaways. People do not need to be Legion members to attend. This event is free to all Vietnam era veterans throughout the region.

Benefit for Cystic Fibrosis Foundation

RANGELEY — The Rangeley World Record Snowmobile Ride, benefiting the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, will be held Saturday, Feb. 16, at Bald Mountain Camps.

Folks who join in can help Rangeley beat the world record largest snowmobile ride with this event.

The Rangeley World Record Snowmobile Ride will start at Bald Mountain Camps on Mooselookmeguntic Lake at 1 p.m. Get there before noon to line up and join the cause. A $10 donation (decal for your sled) is needed to participate in the ride. Many activities surround this event to attract individuals to help support the cause.

Students hold fundraising dinner

OTISFIELD — Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School students Madison Fay and Kori Kahkonen will host an Italian dinner fundraiser for their senior project from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, at the Otisfield Community Hall, Route 121.

The menu will include a variety of lasagnas, salad, beverages and desserts. The money raised will go to families in Otisfield in need of clothes. This is a free dinner, with any donations accepted.

Church to hold potluck, talk

BETHEL — There will be a potluck supper and talk about “Adventures Down Under” Friday, Feb. 15 at West Parish Congregational Church.

Jim and Jane Chandler will share photos of their recent trip to Tasmania and Queensland, Australia, featuring wildlife, nature and Aboriginal sites.

Supper starts at 6 p.m. with the talk starting at 6:45 p.m. This event is free. Bring a dish to share for the meal.
