LISBON FALLS – Derek J. Hargesheimer, 48, a resident of Lisbon Falls, passed away unexpectedly, Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2019, at his home. He was born on Sept. 8, 1970, in Toledo, Ohio, the son of Philip K. Hargesheimer and Linda (Holman) Hargesheimer.

Derek attended Lake Street Elementary School, and was a 1989 graduate Edward Little High School in Auburn. He continued his education at Plymouth State University, majoring in psychology, graduating in 1993. Furthering his education, Derek studied respiratory therapy at Southern Maine Community College. He worked as a respiratory therapist at Mid Coast Hospital in Brunswick.

In his younger years, his Little League Baseball team went to the N.E. Regional Finals. Along with baseball, he also loved playing hockey and soccer. He was a loyal fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers. Derek had a great fondness for his dogs, Rosie and his former dog, Abby. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing video games, but most of all he loved the time he spent with his sons. He will be sadly missed by all his family, friends, and all who knew him.

He is survived by his parents, Phil and Linda Hargesheimer of North Monmouth; two sons, Evan and Jason Hargesheimer, both of Portland; a brother, Kent Hargesheimer of Wake Forest, NC; aunts and uncles, Jerry and Susan Holman of Gibsonia, Pa., Kohann and Edwin Williams of McLean, Va.; cousins, Jonathan Holman of State College, Pa., and Ryan Whitney of Austin, Texas.
