OTISFIELD — Fire Chief Kyle Jordan informed selectmen at the board’s February 6 meeting that the department’s tanker truck is out of service due to computer problems.

Jordan said a representative from Morrison & Sylvester Inc., a truck dealership in Auburn, came to the fire station to reboot the computer, but the truck is still not working.

“We towed it down to Scarborough,” Jordan said, “and we’re going to try and get it back as soon as humanly possible.”

He said nearby towns have been advised of the situation.

“We’ve had the truck for five years,” Jordan said. “Hopefully, there’s some warranty coverage on the truck, since we’re the first owners of it.”

In other matters at the board meeting, Chairman Hal Ferguson said the lines from the outside fuel tanks at the Town Office on Route 121 are no longer frozen.

“I don’t know what’s going on with them,” he said. “It hasn’t happened for the last five years, and we’ve had colder weather in years past.”
