100 Years Ago: 1921

The postponed Senior play, “Way Down in Maine,” will be given at Murray Hall, Thursday evening. There has been big ticket sales and much interest has been shown. Specialties will be introduced between the acts and home-made confections will be on sale.

50 Years Ago: 1971

The Auburn Parks and Recreation  Department has received an $800 grant from the State Forestry Department to be utilized  in the City’s tree planting  program. The superintendent of the APARD said the state funds would be used this year in addition to the $2,500 city funds already earmarked for the project. Ingersoll said he has worked closely with the Auburn Beautification Committee to determine the areas in the city in greatest need for replanting.

25 Years Ago: 1996

Three exchange students spending their senior year at Edward Little High School will speak to members of the Auburn Art Club Monday at the High Street Congregational Church. The students are: Alex Harasic from Chile, Ximena Becerra from Ecuador, and Mark Kofoed from Denmark. All three will receive a diploma in June. Art Club members will learn about the three countries and how their educational systems differ. Hostesses for the 2 pm  meeting will be Mrs. Charles E. Kerr Jr., Mrs. Wallace White, Mrs. Robert Winglass and June Spear.
