AUBURN — The Lewiston-Auburn Optimist Club has announced this year’s winners of its local essay contest.

Max Kim of Westport, Connecticut, took first place. Second place was Jesse Ding from Wilmington, Massachusetts. Third place was Isabella Webster from St. Dominic Academy in Auburn.

“Reaching your Dreams by Choosing Optimism” was this year’s national topic.
