Carole Case

LEWISTON – Carole Case, 81, of Lewiston passed away peacefully on April 1, 2021, at home, following a long illness while being cared for by her son, Steven and his fiancée Donna.

She was born in Cambridge, Mass., Dec. 22, 1939, the daughter of Daniel Meara Sr. and Dorothy Oswald. She was raised by her stepmother, Marguerite Levasseur. She graduated from Lewiston High School, class of 1957.

She married Walter Case Sr., on March 20, 1959. They shared 46 years together before his passing in 2005.

Carole was a beloved mother, grammie, sister, aunt, and friend. She will be dearly missed by all that loved her.

She was employed by Mammoth Mart for 17 years and Kmart for over 25 years.

She enjoyed the times she spent in Florida with her daughter, Kelly and her family.

Carole enjoyed going to the harness races and watching them on TV. Her husband, children and now some grandchildren continue to train and race horses from Maine to Florida.

Carole was the matriarch and the glue of the Case family. Her family meant the world to her and she meant the world to her family. Carole’s passing will leave a hole in everyone’s heart.

Carole is survived by her children, Walter Case Jr. and his partner Genie Meagher, Kelly Case and husband David Ingraham, and Steven Case and his fiancée Donna Cox; her grandchildren, Eric Case and his wife Crystal, Dustin Ingraham and his partner Bobbi Jean Carney, Kelsie Ingraham and her partner Michel Bilodeau, Sherry Case, and Nick Case and his partner Cassie Anderson.

She is survived by her eight great-grandchildren, Hunter, Gage, Hadley, Keegan, Aaliyah, Norrah, Carter, and Isabella; sisters, Donna Hill and Kathy Aube and her brother, Rick Oswald.

She was predeceased by her husband, Walter Sr.; her son, Timothy Case; grandsons, Jerrod Ingraham Case, Ryan Case, Steven Case II; her parents, Daniel Meara and Dorothy Oswald and Marguerite and Bob Levasseur; and her brothers, Dan Meara and Fred Meara.

The family would like to thank the staff at Androscoggin Home Healthcare and Hospice.

Services will be held at Mount Hope Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements were provided by Funeral Alternatives, 25 Tampa St., Lewiston, ME 04240.
