Casey Morissette

RUMFORD – Casey Morissette, 42, died Thursday, April 22, 2021, as a result of injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident in Hingham, Mass.

He was born in Lewiston, Maine on July 19, 1978, he was the son of Henry and Barbara (Cureton) Morissette Casey attended Mountain Valley High School. He worked as the manager of the The Corner Stop Eatery in Cohasset, Mass. Ron, the owner, Bob and all the staff are considered family. He recently became a motorcycle enthusiast and found many new friends who he connected with as kindred spirits.

He was married on Feb. 29, 2016, to Nicole Winters who tragically passed on Jan. 13, 2018.

He is survived by a son, Benjamin Mason of Maine, his mother and father, Barbara and Jerry Ferland of Rumford, a sister, Angela McAllister and her husband Marcus and their children, Liam and Ashlin McAllister of Hartford, and the many aunt, uncles and cousins of both the Morissette and Cureton families. Casey was predeceased by his wife, Nicole, his father, Henry, his grandparents, and many other loved ones.

While Henry Morissette was Casey’s biological father it is important to recognize that Jerry Ferland is his Dad. Casey learned how to be a good man from his example.

Casey had a special kind of magic he loved people and generally people loved him. He was rarely in a room without being surrounded by friends, either the near and dear or those he just met. The world lost a light with his passing. He will be profoundly missed by those who loved him.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Saturday, May 8, 2021, at the Meader & Son Funeral Home, 3 Franklin St., Rumford, Maine, on Saturday, May 8, 2021. Interment will be held in St John’s Cemetery in Rumford at a later date.
