JAY – Beverly E. York, 76, of Jay, passed away peacefully, May 6, 2021 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born Oct. 8, 1944 in Rumford, the daughter of Delmont Davenport and Eleanor (Barrett) Davenport. She attended school in Canton. On Oct. 15, 1989, she married Richard “Buddy” York Jr. of Wilton, enjoying 30 wonderful years together before his passing on Jan. 2, 2020.

She spent her working career as a certified nurse assistant at St. Casimir in Lewiston, and Victorian Villa Nursing Home in Canton. She enjoyed going for rides, viewing wildlife, and most of all visiting with her family and friends.

She is survived by her children, Ronald (Kathy) Gauthier, Raymond Gauthier (Angie Raymond), Tracy (Andy) Watson, and Heidi (Neal) Quimby; stepchildren, Greg (Wanda) York, Dennis (Linda) York, Debra (Pat) Keevan, and Jeffrey York (Alycia Stevens); sisters Barbara (Eugene) Groleau, Wilma Turcotte, Marjorie Olden, and Jean Bedard, her sister-in-law, Noreen Cummings, brother-in-law, Durwood Swett; and many grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces, and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents, Delmont and Eleanor Davenport; the father of her children, Ramon Gauthier; her daughter, Debra Laplante; grandson Kolby Gauthier; brother-in-law, Donald Olden; father and mother-in-law, Richard Sr. and Helen York; sister-in-law, Maxine Swett, and brothers-in-law, Ronald York and George Cummings, Sr.

Visitation 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday May 20 at FINLEY FUNERAL HOME, 15 Church St., Livermore Falls. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Friday, May 21 at the funeral home. Private Interment to follow services at Lakeview Cemetery, Route 2, Wilton.
