SCARBOROUGH – John passed away peacefully in hospice care on April 29, 2021, after a short illness.He was born in Lewiston on Nov. 6, 1945, the son of Oneil and Annette (Morneault) Deschaines. John graduated from Lewiston High School in 1963. After graduating he served in the U.S. Navy in Vietnam, where he was part of a flight deck crew.After returning from the war he returned home and married Rolande Tardif on August 2, 1969 and they bought a house in Lisbon Falls, where they lived and raised a family. John was a member of the Slovak catholic association in Lisbon Falls. He also enjoyed playing horseshoes and golf.He was a dedicated father and husband He is predeceased by his wife of 34 years, Rolande; his sisters Jeannine, Rose and Claudette, two brothers Joel and Victor. He is survived by his four children, Eric, Scott, Amy and John.His surviving siblings are his brothers Louis, Roger, Marcel and Paul, and sisters Ann and Rita.
