Linda M. Cyr

LEWISTON – Linda M. Cyr, 72, was reunited with her mom and dad on April 3, 2021.

Born in Lewiston on August 9, 1948, the eldest child of Alyre and Therese Bougie Cyr. Born with a handicap, she lived in Sabattus most of her life. She attended Sabattus schools, the Garcelon School, Pineland, and the Social Learning Center.

After an ankle injury eight years ago, she became a resident of d’Youville Pavilion. She enjoyed making pot holders, puzzles, doing plastic canvas, and pegs. She collected pennies, elephants, frogs, and many other knick-knacks, and enjoyed going to Bingo with her mother. She loved being with family and friends, especially on birthdays and holidays, and she loved to sing.

Survivors include a sister, Gloria Cyr Gosselin, four brothers, Pat and wife Barbie Cyr, Marc and wife Theresa Cyr, Maurice and wife Wendy Cyr, and David and wife Michele Cyr, a sister-in-law, Barbara F. Cyr; two aunts; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Walter Cyr, a brother-in-law, Normand Gosselin; and a nephew, Walter F. “Beau” Cyr.

The family would like to thank the staff of the Social Learning Center, d’Youville Pavilion, Beacon Hospice, and Father Santhiyagu.

Visitation will be held at the Albert and Burpee Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 12, from 9 to 11 a.m. Followed by a Liturgy of the Word Service at 11 a.m. Interment, Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Sabattus. Condolences may be accessed online at http://www.albert-burpee.com .
