Doris Williamson Fraser

BETHEL – Doris Williamson Fraser passed away on April 30, 2021, at her winter residence in Vidalia, Ga. She was born in Newry on June 30, 1923, a daughter of Harry and Esther Frost Williamson. She graduated from Upton High School.

On July 19, 1941 she married Donald M. Fraser and they moved to Bethel in 1950. He passed away on Sept. 2, 1970. She was a member of Albany, Maine Church, a member of the United Methodist Women at the Methodist Church in Bethel, Bethel Senior Citizens and the Oxford County Senior Citizens, a life member of the Bethel Historical Society and a member of the Elinor Gordon Guild at Mt. Abrams and belonged to the Fish and Game Association of Bethel and a lifelong member of American Legion Aux of Bethel.

She is survived by two sons, Orlando M. Fraser of Vidalia, Ga. and his wife Claudette, and Richard A. Fraser of Harrison and his wife Nancy. She has four grandchildren, several step-grandchildren; and great- and great-great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her brother, Richard (Buster) Williamson, sister, Phyllis Stevens and Ruth Williamson and brother, Ralph Williamson. She leaves a sister-in-law, Virginia Williamson.

Mrs. Fraser enjoyed baking for her family and friends. She was an avid collector of many things and could entertain friends for hours with her various collections. Most recently she collected memorabilia of the Dionne Quintuplets born in Canada. She corresponded with people from all over the world to exchange napkins and sugar packets.

She spent a good share of her life as caregiver for her husband, her mother, and her brother-in-law. She will sadly be missed by her family and friends.

A graveside service will take place on May 16 at 11 a.m., in the Riverside Cemetery Bethel.
