Lisa Elaine (Farrington) Michaud

SCARBOROUGH – Lisa Elaine (Farrington) Michaud, 54, a resident of Newfield, formerly of Jay, passed away Monday, May 10, 2021, surrounded by her loving family, following a courageous four-year battle with cancer.

She was born Dec. 29, 1966 in Farmington, the daughter of Barry Farrington and Janice (Atkinson) Farrington. She was a 1984 graduate of Jay High School. On Oct. 6, 2001, in Auburn, she married Norman Michaud. Although they had a great loving relationship it grew to a more intense and phenomenal level of oneness during her cancer battle.

She worked as a waitress at Irvings and Applebees for many years before becoming a customer service representative at the Pratt Abbott Cleaners. She later did audits for the dry cleaning service and always looked forward to the company Christmas party.

Lisa will be remembered for her love of gardening, and going by the alias “Garden Girl”. She loved watching her perennials peak through the snow and the mulch in the springtime, pointing them out to her husband, family and friends in awe of their beauty.

She also had an amazing fondness for cookbooks and cooking. Whenever she would go shopping she would pick up a new cookbook and was also a favorite gift from others. Lisa even had a hardcover book from the famous chef Jacques Pépin that had blank pages in it that she would have her family write down their opinions of the meals she had prepared for future reference.

She was also a sky gazer, she could tell you where the moon was at any given time of the day, along with other amazing facts. Lisa was all about greeting cards, having a collection for all occasions. She would decorate them with special stickers and send them out to family and friends. She loved receiving them as well. She will also be remembered for her vibrant outgoing personality and would often play air guitar at family functions. Lisa was strong in her faith and loved reading her bible.

She is survived by her husband, Norman Michaud of Newfield; her son, Ryan Labbe of South Berwick, stepson, Christopher Michaud of Durham, stepdaughter, Holly Michaud of Pine Key, Fla.; her brother, Larry Farrington and wife Sue of East Sebago, sister, Lyn Farrington of Newfield; her nieces, nephews; aunts, Beatrice Farrington and companion Gilbert Barnaby, April Pomerleau and husband Ron, and Penny Farrington all of Jay; sister-in-law, Lana Boucher and husband Larry of Waterville.

She was predeceased by her parents; her sister, Laurie Farrington; beloved maternal grandparents, Lawrence and Peggy Atkinson, paternal grandparents, Helen and Vinton Farrington; uncles, David Atkinson, Arnold, Keith and Alan Farrington, and aunt, Janice Rackcliff.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m., Monday, May 17 at FINLEY FUNERAL HOME, 15 Church St., Livermore Falls. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. prior to the funeral service at the funeral home. Interment Birchland Cemetery, East Dixfield Road, Jay.
